If you have questions about warranties on new Birtpools products, just read the information on the product below.
Both our professional pools have a 40 use Manufacturing fault warranty on them. This means, for example, on unpacking the appearance of a split seam, faulty valves, obvious holes etc. Once the pro pool is inflated for the first time and a ring, for example, deflates for no apparent reason, there is a possibility of a "pinprick" hole that can not be seen by the naked eye- not common, but it can happen. If any of the above is the case on the first inflation and the pool has an obvious manufacturing fault, we will replace it. If a seam, for example, splits on the 5th/10th etc. use we would also replace if the pool has been used correctly. Please keep the pool as we may want a photograph and/or see evidence of the fault for our factory.
If a customer does report a deflating pool with no obvious reason to explain why please ask how the pool was stored, if the black washer is missing from a valve (can be replaced) and if the valves are closed correctly.
The Manufacturing fault Warranty does not include punctures etc. caused by mishandling or incorrect storage etc. If a professional pool deflates after the first successful use and there are no obvious manufacturing faults that may potentially be a user fault- i.e. dragging the pool across the floor or between doorways, allowing children to play on it etc. The user- i.e. the Midwife must be aware that she and her customer have responsibility for the birth pool and its care.
We have found that we have virtually no complaints of deflating pools from our professional (hospital) customers as the pools are usually kept in one place and are not couriered to different places at different temperatures etc.
Reports of faults are mainly centred around customers (midwives) who hire pools out as they are used in different households who have varied attitudes towards care. It is important, therefore, to ensure that customers understand that the care of the pool is their responsibility. A deposit would therefore make them feel more responsible if that was non-refundable if damage occurs.
Manufacturing faults are rare but to assure you that we are pleased to replace professional pools if one does appear.
We will also replace/refund personal pools if there is an obvious manufacturing fault on the first inflation. We guarantee the personal pools for their first use only.
If a customer does report a deflating pool with no obvious reason to explain why please ask how the pool was stored, if the black washer is missing from a valve (can be replaced) and if the valves are closed correctly.
