In the Birthpools shop you'll find two variants of the Birth Pool in a Box birth pool: Personal and Pro. Which of the two you see depends on your account. If you're pregnant, you have access to the Personal birth pools in the general shop. If you work as a professional, in a hospital, or you're a rental company, you need an account to access the Pro variant. In this article we explain exactly what the differences are, because at first glance, they look incredibly similar!

Pregnant and looking for a birth pool?

Then the Personal variant is exactly what you need. This pool is specially developed for a few instances of personal use, so that you can give birth calmly and comfortably in water at home, possibly use it for a next birth, or pass it on to a friend.

Professional, hospital, or rental company?

Then log in to your account to get access to the professional birth pools. If you're not logged in yet, you'll only see the Personal pools in the shop. So create a (professional) account, so you're sure you're ordering the Pro variant. This one is specially built for intensive and repeated use, with a guarantee of 50 uses or 5 years.

Why the difference matters

The Personal and the Pro variant look similar, but are developed for completely different use.

Logo and bag

At first glance, you'll recognize the difference mainly by the logo on the pool and the bag it's delivered in.

The bottom of the pool

The bottom of the pool also differs. The Pro pool has an extra layer underneath the normal base. This extra layer protects the pool against the frequent moving around that can happen in a hospital. As a professional who lends the pool to clients, or as a rental company, you use the pool multiple times and fold it up again and again. In that case too, the double layer offers extra protection.

Material and weight

The Pro pool is made of thicker material and is therefore also heavier than the Personal pool. That thicker material is exactly what's needed to be able to keep using the pool time and again.

Valves

There's a difference in the valves in the base and the seat. With the Personal pool, you push the valves completely into the seat and the base, the same principle as, for example, armbands or beach balls. With the Pro version, they're screw valves, just like the valves of the three air rings. These are easy to replace if damaged, which is a big advantage with intensive use. The seat of the Pro version is also a bit bigger.

Colours

Finally, the pools differ in the available colours. The Pro version is available in Sky Blue, White, and Midnight. The Personal variant comes in Sky Blue, White, and Matcha Mist.

If you work as a care professional, in a hospital, or want to rent out birth pools, the Pro variant is essential for the intensive use that comes with it.
