Bevallingsbaden x Birthpools
Bevallingsbaden offers the full range of Birth Pool in a Box Pro pools, in every colour and size, for rent to expectant parents across the Netherlands. Once customers have chosen their preferred colour and size, they can select either a Standard or Premium package. This way, there's always an option that fits the available space, water supply, and personal preferences at home.
The rental is scheduled to be shipped at 36 weeks of pregnancy, ensuring it arrives in time for the 37-week mark. Once the birth is over, the customer requests a collection via a personal link. The pool, electric pump, and tap connectors are returned in the original delivery box. If the pool wasn't used, customers receive a refund for any unopened disposables they return.
After each return, the pools are cleaned, inspected, and prepared for the next customer.

FAQs
How many times can a portable birth pool be used?
The Birth Pool in a Box Pro is designed for intensive use and comes with a guarantee of 50 uses. As a rental provider, it's important to inform your customers about proper use to maximise the pool's lifespan.
Key tips to keep in mind:
- Make sure the pool has been at room temperature for at least 72 hours before unfolding and inflating it.
- Only fold the pool back up after use once it's completely clean and dry, any residual moisture can damage the material.
- Always use the birth pool with the included liner.
- Store the pool in the provided bag.
- Be careful when moving the pool past walls and door frames with sharp edges.
Which items are reusable and which are disposable?
The pool itself, the electric pump, and the tap connectors can all be reused after cleaning and a technical check. All other accessories are single-use only, including:
- The liner
- Water hose
- Water pump
- Anti-slip mat
- Floor protection sheet
- Scoop net
- Thermometer
- Gynaecological gloves
- Mirror
- Thermal pool cover
- MyAnchor
These items come into contact with contaminated water during use and cannot be safely cleaned for use with another customer. This also applies to the water pump and hose, through which contaminated water has passed and which cannot be thoroughly cleaned.
How do you clean the pool as a rental provider?
After the pool is returned, start by removing any dust and hair from the pool and bag. In most cases, you'll receive the pool back clean and dry thanks to the liner, but since you weren't present during use, cleaning is an essential step. Use an all-purpose cleaner to wipe down all edges, handles, the base, and the seat. To disinfect, follow up with 70% alcohol. The tap connectors can be cleaned and disinfected the same way.
How do you fill and empty the pool?
For every water birth, a disposable liner, water pump, and 10-metre water hose with tap connector are used. The hose is used once first to fill the pool, and then again afterwards to empty it.
Filling: Connect the hose with the tap connector to the desired tap. Place the other end of the hose into the hose holder on the liner so it stays in place while the pool fills. Once the pool is full, disconnect the hose and set it aside to prevent a trip hazard.
Emptying: Once the birth is over and mother and baby are out of the pool, place one end of the hose under a toilet seat. Place the other end into the liner's hose holder, then attach the disposable water pump. With a 5-metre cord, the pump can easily reach a power outlet. It will start pumping immediately, the process takes around 30 minutes on average and runs silently. You don't need to stay nearby, as the hose stays securely in place under the toilet seat.
As the pool empties, the pump will start drawing in air. Lift one side of the liner slightly to guide any remaining water towards the pump. Once all the water has been pumped out, dispose of all single-use materials and you're left with a clean, dry pool. There may be some condensation or dirt on the outside, so remind your customers to return the pool clean and dry to prevent material damage.
